Fried Pickles

Method

Fried Pickles

1

Prepare the Pickles

Drain the sliced dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

2

Make the Coating

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a dry coating mixture.

3

Dipping Station

In another bowl, pour the buttermilk. Set up a dipping station with the buttermilk on one side and the coating mixture on the other.

4

Coat the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off, then dredge in the coating mixture until fully coated. Set aside on a plate.

5

Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

6

Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the coated pickles to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Ranch Dipping Sauce

7

Mix the Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Whisk until smooth and well combined.

8

Serve

Transfer the ranch dipping sauce to a serving bowl and serve alongside the crispy fried pickles.
