Base Drink

Method

Preparation

1

Chill glassware

Place a highball glass or tall serving glass in the refrigerator or freezer for 5–10 minutes to chill, or fill with ice while you prepare other components.

2

Prepare ice and garnishes: fill the chilled glass about 3/4 full with ice (cubes or crushed) and cut a fresh lime wheel for garnish.

Mixing the Drink

3

Pour 3 cups (about 24 fl oz) of chilled Dr Pepper Zero into a pitcher if making multiple servings or directly into the prepared glass for a single serving. (If making a single serving in a glass, use 8 fl oz / 1 cup — amounts above reflect a 3-serving pitcher.)

4

Add 1/2 cup chilled club soda to the pitcher or glass to add a touch of bright effervescence and lighten the sweetness slightly. Gently stir once or twice to combine—do not vigorously stir to preserve carbonation.

5

Add 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice and 1 teaspoon simple syrup (optional) to taste. Stir gently to incorporate. The lime brightens the flavor while the simple syrup can balance extra tartness if desired.

Finishing & Serving

6

Taste and adjust: sample a small sip and add more lime or simple syrup if needed. If serving an adult variation, add 1 oz bourbon per serving and stir gently to combine.

7

Garnish with the lime wheel on the rim and optionally drop a maraschino cherry into the glass. Serve immediately while cold and carbonated.

8

For a bottomless-style self-serve offering: prepare a larger chilled dispenser (increase ingredients proportionally), place it on ice so it stays cold, provide clean glasses and garnishes nearby, and replenish as guests pour.
