Fried Cauliflower
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cauliflower
Wash and cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets. Pat dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chili powder. Gradually add cold water while whisking until smooth and consistent.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Cauliflower
Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered florets into the hot oil. Fry in batches for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.
- 5
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried cauliflower from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
