Hood Rolls Ingredients

Method

Hood Rolls Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare Mac & Cheese

Cook macaroni according to package instructions. In a saucepan, melt butter, add cooked macaroni, milk, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and black pepper. Stir until cheese is melted and creamy. Set aside to cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare Collard Greens

In a pot, add a small amount of water and bring to a boil. Add chopped collard greens, cover, and steam for about 10 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper, then set aside.

  3. 3

    Assemble Hood Rolls

Take an egg roll wrapper and place a spoonful of mac & cheese, a spoonful of collard greens, and a spoonful of mashed yams in the center. Fold the sides over and roll tightly. Seal the edges with a bit of water.

  4. 4

    Fry the Rolls

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
