Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Kafta

In a large bowl, combine ground beef or lamb, chopped onion, parsley, minced garlic, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and form into small oval-shaped patties.

2

Brown the Kafta

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the kafta patties and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the patties and set aside.

3

Sauté the Vegetables

In the same pot, add chopped carrots and diced potatoes. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.

4

Add Broth and Tomato Paste

Stir in the tomato paste and then pour in the chicken or vegetable broth. Bring to a boil.

5

Simmer the Stew

Once boiling, reduce heat to low, add the kafta patties back into the pot, cover, and let simmer for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

6

Serve

Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve hot with bread or rice.
