Method

Churro Preparation

1

Make the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour. Mix until smooth and let cool slightly. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth.

2

Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

3

Fry the Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 6-inch long strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting the dough with scissors. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

4

Combine Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow bowl, mix together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon sugar until thoroughly coated.

Dipping Sauce Preparation

5

Make the Chocolate Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering. Remove from heat and add Ghirardelli chocolate chips. Stir until melted and smooth.
