Method

Prepare Lactose Solution

1

Dissolve lactose

Warm 1 oz of milk or light cream slightly (no more than lukewarm). Stir in 1 tsp of lactose powder until fully dissolved. Chill briefly if needed. This creates a smooth lactose solution to add creaminess without graininess.

Mix Cocktail

2

Add 1 cup of cubed ice to a cocktail shaker.

3

Pour in 6 oz chilled cherry nectar, 2 oz lychee puree, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.5 tbs rose syrup, and 0.25 tbs simple syrup (use only if additional sweetness is desired).

4

Add the prepared lactose solution (1 tsp dissolved in 1 oz milk/cream).

5

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels cold and the mixture is well combined and slightly frothy from the lactose solution and shaking.

6

Double strain (using a fine mesh strainer if available) into a chilled coupe or rocks glass over fresh ice, or serve neat in a chilled coupe for a smoother presentation.

Garnish & Serve

7

Garnish with one fresh lychee or maraschino cherry on a pick and optionally an edible rose petal floated on top.

8

Serve immediately. Stir briefly before sipping if served over ice to reincorporate any settled components.
