Martini

Method

Martini

1

Chill glass

Place a martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it.

2

Prepare garnish

If using fresh lychee, peel and pit 2 lychees. If using canned lychee, drain and reserve one whole lychee (or two halves) for garnish. Thread the lychee onto a cocktail pick and set aside.

3

Measure and combine

Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice. Add 2 oz Absolut Citron vodka, 1 oz vanilla vodka, and 1 oz lychee juice to the shaker. If you prefer a slightly sweeter or rounder finish, add 0.25 tsp simple syrup and 0.25 tsp fresh lime juice (optional).

4

Shake

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold and the ingredients are well combined and slightly frothy.

5

Strain and serve

Discard the ice or water from the chilled martini glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass using the shaker strainer and, if available, a fine mesh strainer to remove any small ice shards.

6

Garnish and finish

Garnish the cocktail with the lychee on a pick, resting it on the rim or dropping it into the glass. Serve immediately.
