Tea Base

Method

Tea Base

1

Heat water

Bring 4 cups of fresh cold water to a near‑boil, then remove from heat when it reaches about 175–185°F (80–85°C). If you don't have a thermometer, bring to a gentle steam with small bubbles forming, not a rolling boil.

2

Steep tea

Place 2 teaspoons of loose jasmine green tea in a teapot or infuser. Pour the heated water over the leaves and cover. Steep for 2–3 minutes for a delicate, floral cup; steep up to 4 minutes for a stronger flavor. Avoid steeping longer than 4 minutes to prevent bitterness.

3

Strain

Strain the tea leaves and pour the brewed tea into teacups. If using a large teapot, swirl gently before pouring to mix flavor evenly.

Optional Sweetener & Garnish

4

Sweeten

If desired, stir in 1 teaspoon of honey or sugar into the hot tea until dissolved. Adjust to taste.

5

Garnish

Float a few fresh jasmine blossoms or edible flower petals on top for fragrance and presentation. Optionally add a thin lemon slice on the cup rim for a bright aromatic contrast.
