Sake & Garnish
Chill and prepare glassware
Refrigerate the 250 ml bottle of Zipang Sparkling Sake for at least 2–3 hours or until well chilled (ideally 40–50°F / 4–10°C). If serving on ice, place a rocks glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice to chill then discard before pouring.
Serve straight (traditional)
Pour the chilled Zipang Sparkling Sake directly into a chilled sake cup (ochoko) or a Champagne flute, filling to about three-quarters to preserve aroma and effervescence. No ice required for the purest flavor.
Serve on ice (refreshing, casual)
If serving on ice, add 3–4 fresh ice cubes to a short rocks glass. Pour the chilled sparkling sake slowly over the ice to maintain bubbles. Leave a small gap at the top to avoid overflow.
Garnish and finish
Optional: For a light aromatic accent, add a thin cucumber ribbon along the inside of the glass, or float a shiso leaf / mint sprig on top. If using grated ginger, add a very small pinch (about 1/4–1/2 tsp) to the surface and taste — it should be a hint, not dominant. Optionally, express a lemon or yuzu wedge over the glass and drop the wedge in for a citrus lift.
