Wine Details (for reference)
1. Chill the bottle
Place the bottle of Arona Sauvignon Blanc in the refrigerator for at least 2–3 hours before serving to reach an ideal serving temperature of 8–10°C (46–50°F). If you need it faster, submerge the bottle in an ice-water bath for 20–30 minutes.
2. Open the bottle
Wipe the neck of the bottle with a clean cloth. Use a corkscrew to remove the cork cleanly. If the bottle has a screwcap, twist it open. Pour a small taste to check the wine is free of faults (any off aromas or unpleasant flavors).
3. Decant (optional)
Sauvignon Blanc typically does not require decanting. If the wine has heavy sediment (rare for a commercial Sauvignon Blanc) or you want to aerate slightly, pour gently into a carafe and let it breathe for 10–15 minutes.
Serve & Pairing Garnishes
4. Prepare garnishes
Thinly slice half a lemon and cut a cucumber into long ribbons using a vegetable peeler. Rinse and gently pat dry 3 fresh mint leaves.
5. Glassware and ice
Select chilled white wine glasses. If serving on a warm day or making a wine spritz, add 3–4 ice cubes to the glass.
6. Pour and finish
Pour the Arona Sauvignon Blanc into each glass up to the widest part (about 5–6 oz / 150–180 ml). Add one lemon slice and one cucumber ribbon to each glass if desired. Gently slap the mint leaves between your palms to release aroma and float them on top. Serve immediately alongside light appetizers such as goat cheese crostini or fresh oysters.
7. Tasting notes and temperature reminder: Serve chilled (8–10°C). Sauvignon Blanc typically shows bright citrus and green fruit flavors—adjust garnishes sparingly so they complement rather than mask the wine.
