Cocktail Preparation

1

Prepare the Glass

Begin by chilling a cocktail glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Muddle Mint Leaves

In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press the mint leaves to release their oils. Be careful not to tear them too much; you want to infuse the flavor without creating a mushy texture.

3

Add Liquids

To the muddled mint, pour in the sake, yuzu juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, ensuring that it’s at least three-quarters full.

4

Shake the Mixture

Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This will chill the mixture and combine the flavors.

5

Strain into Glass

Empty the chilled cocktail glass of ice water. Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the cocktail mixture into the glass, ensuring that no mint leaves make it into the final drink.

6

Top with Asahi

Slowly pour the Asahi beer over the top of the strained cocktail mixture. This will create a beautiful layered effect.

7

Garnish and Serve

Finally, garnish the drink with a strip of yuzu peel. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing Asahi Apocalypse cocktail!
