Method
Prep vegetables and condiments
Wash tomato, lettuce, and pepperoncini. Slice tomato into 4 even slices. Thinly slice the red onion into rings. Set aside pickles and pepperoncini, and place mayonnaise, mustard, and garlic sauce each into separate small ramekins or condiment cups for side serving.
Assemble sandwiches
Step 1 — Prepare bread
Place the 2 pieces of bread (hero/sub or kaiser) on a clean work surface and slice horizontally if not pre-sliced. If you prefer warmed bread, toast or press briefly (30–60 seconds) until slightly warmed but not crispy.
Step 2 — Layer meats and cheese
On the bottom half of each sandwich, arrange the deli meats in this order for balanced flavor: 50 g roast beef, 50 g turkey, and 37.5 g ham per sandwich (adjust slightly so total per sandwich equals the amounts listed). Fold slices gently to create height and even coverage. Top with two slices of cheese (one per sandwich half if using 4 slices total).
Step 3 — Add veggies
Place 2 tomato slices per sandwich (one on each half if cutting), add a few red onion rings (about 4–6 rings distributed), 4 pickle slices per sandwich, 2 pepperoncini per sandwich (whole or halved if desired), and 2 leaves of lettuce per sandwich. If using salt and pepper, lightly season the tomato slices with a pinch of salt and pepper. Optionally drizzle 1/2 tsp olive oil over the veggies for flavor.
Step 4 — Finish and cut
Place the top half of the bread over the stacked ingredients. Press gently to compact. Using a sharp knife, cut each sandwich in half on a diagonal or straight down the middle so each box gets two halves. Insert a sandwich pick in each half to hold layers if needed.
Boxing and extras
Wrap each sandwich half in sandwich paper or place directly into the sandwich compartment of the box. Arrange condiment cups next to the sandwich — mayonnaise, mustard, and garlic sauce — unless a customer requested them on the sandwich. Place the two chocolate chip cookies in a small sealed bag or compartment of the box. Close the box and label or mark contents. Serve immediately or refrigerate and consume within 24 hours for best quality.
