Preparation

1

Clean the Clams

Rinse the Manila clams under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any sand or debris. Soak them in salted water for about 20 minutes to help expel any remaining sand.

Cooking

2

Sauté Garlic

In a large pot or skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

3

Add Clams and Wine

Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the cleaned Manila clams to the pot, followed by the white wine and salt. Stir gently to combine.

4

Steam the Clams

Cover the pot with a lid and let the clams steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until all the clams have opened. Discard any clams that remain closed.

5

Finish the Dish

Once the clams are done, remove the pot from heat. Stir in the chopped parsley and black pepper. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
