Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Build the drink

Fill a large wine glass generously with ice cubes (enough to chill and keep the glass cold).

  2. 2

    Add Aperol

Pour 3 parts Aperol over the ice.

  3. 3

    Add Prosecco

Slowly add 2 parts chilled Prosecco to the glass. Pour gently so you preserve some bubbles.

  4. 4

    Top with soda

Add 1 part chilled soda water to taste. Gently stir once or twice with a bar spoon to combine — do not over-stir to keep effervescence.

  5. 5

    Garnish and serve

Garnish with 1 fresh orange slice placed on the rim or floated in the glass. Serve immediately while cold and sparkling.

  6. 6

    Notes

Adjust ratios to taste — a common alternative is 3-2-1 or 2-3-1 (Aperol:Prosecco:soda). Use very cold Prosecco and soda for best results; optional: chill the glass beforehand.
