Making Bolognese Sauce
Sauté Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, carrot, and celery; sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.
Brown the Beef
Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 6-8 minutes.
Add Tomatoes and Wine
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and red wine. Bring to a simmer.
Season the Sauce
Add oregano, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Toss the cooked linguine with the Bolognese sauce. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
