Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Vegetables

Finely chop the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic.

2

Cook the Vegetables

In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

3

Brown the Beef

Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.

4

Add Wine and Tomatoes

Pour in the red wine and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add the canned tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir well to combine.

5

Season the Sauce

Add salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and dried basil. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6

Cook the Linguine

While the sauce is simmering, cook the linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

7

Combine Linguine and Sauce

Once the sauce is ready, toss the cooked linguine in the sauce until well coated.

8

Serve

Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
