Prep & Rim

1

Prepare glass

Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Pour the coarse sea salt or Tajín onto a small plate and dip the glass rim to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.

Muddle & Mix

2

Place 1 jalapeño slice (reserve one for garnish) and 0.5 oz agave syrup into a shaker. Gently muddle 6–8 times to release seeds and oils. If you prefer milder heat, remove seeds from the jalapeño before muddling.

3

Add 3 oz Jose Cuervo Tradicional® Blanco Tequila, 2 oz mango purée, 1 oz fresh lime juice and the optional 0.25 oz orange liqueur into the shaker with the muddled jalapeño.

4

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well chilled.

Strain & Serve

5

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice to remove jalapeño solids and any pulp. Use a fine mesh strainer in addition to the shaker strainer for a smooth texture.

6

Garnish with the reserved jalapeño slice floated on top and a lime wedge on the rim. Optionally, add a thin mango slice or a pinch of Tajín over the jalapeño for contrast.

7

Serve immediately. Taste and adjust sweetness with up to 0.25 oz more agave if desired.
