Mango Mint Mule - cocktail

Method

Mango Mint Mule - preparation

1

Muddle

Place 8 fresh mint leaves and 0.5 oz simple syrup into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass. Gently muddle the mint about 6–8 times to release oils — do not over-muddle (which can make the drink bitter).

2

Combine

Add 2 oz Ketel One vodka, 2 oz mango puree and 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice to the shaker with muddled mint. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled.

3

Prepare glass

Fill a chilled copper mug or highball glass with crushed ice (about 1 cup). If desired, slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and place it in the glass as garnish space.

4

Strain and top

Double-strain the shaken mixture over the crushed ice into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne or fine mesh strainer to remove mint bits. Top with 4 oz chilled ginger beer, pouring slowly to preserve carbonation. Gently stir once with a bar spoon to integrate.

5

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a mango slice, a mint sprig tucked into the top, and an optional lemon wheel or twist. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy.
