Using an immersion blender, carefully blend the soup until smooth. If you don't have an immersion blender, you can blend it in batches in a regular blender.

Add Oysters and Cream

Return the blended soup to the pot over low heat. Stir in the heavy cream, oysters, salt, black pepper, thyme, and lemon juice. Cook for another 5 minutes, until the oysters are just cooked through.
