Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil until the sugar is dissolved.

Marinate the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Cook the Salmon

Preheat the grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove salmon from the marinade and reserve the marinade. Cook the salmon for 4-5 minutes on each side, brushing occasionally with the reserved marinade, until cooked through.

Garnish and Serve

Remove the salmon from the heat, sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving. Enjoy with miso soup or salad.
