Method

Prep

1

Chill glass

Place a tall 12 oz glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice while prepping other items to cool it.

2

Roll the mint leaves between your palms gently to release aroma; set aside 2 leaves for garnish.

Build the Drink

3

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and discard any ice used for chilling. Fill the glass with fresh ice cubes (about 1 cup).

4

Add the simple syrup, fresh lime juice, and lemon juice to the glass. Stir gently to combine with the ice.

5

Pour in the pilsner or light lager (1 cup) slowly, then float the pale ale/IPA (1/2 cup) on top by pouring gently over the back of a spoon to preserve some hop aroma and slight layered appearance.

6

Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters over the top of the beer to add depth and a subtle spice note.

7

Tuck the rolled mint leaves into the drink and give a gentle stir (1–2 turns) just to lift aromatics without flattening the carbonation.

Garnish & Serve

8

Express an orange twist over the glass (pinch to release oils) and drop it in or balance on the rim.

9

Garnish with the reserved mint leaves. Serve immediately with a straw or sip directly to appreciate the layered hop and citrus aromatics.
