Check the bottle for any faults (off odors, excessive sediment in older wines). If cork-sealed, remove capsule, wipe the top of the bottle, and use a corkscrew to gently remove the cork. Pour a small taste to confirm the wine is clean and free from cork taint.

If the wine is young, closed or has pronounced tannins, gently pour the entire bottle into a decanter to introduce air and soften tannins. Tilt the decanter and pour in a steady stream; for older wines with sediment, pour slowly and stop as sediment approaches the neck. If you prefer not to decant, simply open and let the bottle stand upright for 10–15 minutes to let it breathe.

Serve the Red Blend slightly below room temperature: target 15–18°C (59–64°F). If the wine is too warm, place the decanter or bottle in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes. If it's too cold, set it at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.

Use large-bowl red wine glasses. Rinse each glass with a small amount of room-temperature water and gently swirl to remove dust, then discard the water and let the glass air-dry or wipe with a lint-free cloth. This prevents water spots and primes the glass for aroma release.

Pour 120–150 ml (about 4–5 oz) per serving into each prepared glass. Hold the decanter or bottle at a slight angle and pour smoothly to avoid splashes. Leave some space in the glass to allow swirling and aroma development.

Before sipping, swirl the wine gently in the glass to release aromas. Inhale to take note of fruit, spice, oak, and other characteristics. Take a small sip, let it coat your palate, and note balance of acidity, tannin, alcohol and finish.

Arrange sliced hard cheese and cured meats on a board. Bring cheeses to room temperature (remove from fridge 20–30 minutes before serving) to maximize flavor. Provide a small knife for the cheese and separate utensils for meats.
