Flip and finish

Transfer sandwich to a cutting board and let rest 30–60 seconds to allow cheese to set slightly. Slice sandwich diagonally or down the middle with a sharp knife. Serve immediately.

Heat 1 cup tomato soup in a small pot over medium heat until simmering, stirring occasionally, about 3–5 minutes. Pour into a bowl for dipping the grilled cheese.
