Blackberry Crown Smash Mix
Finish & Garnish
Method
Blackberry Crown Smash Mix
Muddle
Place 6 fresh blackberries, 0.5 tablespoon maple syrup, and 2 mint sprigs (reserve 1 sprig for garnish) into a mixing glass or cocktail shaker. Gently muddle just enough to break the berries and release juice and oils from the mint — avoid pulverizing the mint into bits.
Add Spirits & Lemonade
Add 2 oz Crown Royal Canadian whisky, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and 2 oz old fashioned lemonade to the muddled blackberry mixture. Fill the shaker or mixing glass halfway with crushed ice.
Shake
Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and slightly frosted. This chills and dilutes the cocktail to balance sweetness and alcohol.

Strain & Top
Fill a rocks or highball glass with crushed ice (about 1 cup). Double-strain the shaken mixture over the ice into the glass to remove seeds and large mint pieces. Top gently with 2 oz club soda to add effervescence; stir once lightly with a bar spoon to incorporate.
Garnish & Serve
Thread one fresh blackberry onto a cocktail pick and place across the rim or float on top. Add a lemon wheel to the rim and slap the reserved mint sprig between your palms once to release aroma, then tuck it into the glass. Serve immediately with a short straw.
