Method
Crust & Base
Combine the finely crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, melted butter, and granulated sugar in a bowl. Mix until the crumbs are evenly moistened and hold together when pressed.
Press the crumb mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom (and about 1/2 inch up the sides if desired) of the prepared pan to form a compact crust.
Bake the crust for 8 minutes to set. Remove from oven and cool while you prepare the filling. Reduce oven temperature to 325°F (160°C) if you will bake the whole cake, or leave as is if serving chilled (see step in filling).
Cream Filling
Beat the cream cheese
In a large mixing bowl, beat the room-temperature cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and free of lumps, about 1–2 minutes.
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with a whisk or mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, then whip to medium-stiff peaks.
Fold about one-quarter of the whipped cream into the beaten cream cheese to lighten it, then gently fold in the remaining whipped cream until fully combined and smooth. The filling should be airy but stable.
Reserve about 2 tablespoons of the cream filling for dolloping/garnish if desired; transfer the rest to a larger bowl for mix-ins.
Twist Mix-Ins
Melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) or in 15–20 second bursts in the microwave, stirring between bursts until smooth. Allow to cool slightly but still pourable.
Fold the chopped mini cookies into the main cream filling, then drizzle the melted white chocolate over the mixture and gently fold once or twice to create a marbled/twisted effect—avoid overmixing to keep visible white streaks.
Spoon the twisted Oreo cream filling over the cooled crust, smoothing the top with an offset spatula. If you reserved dollops, pipe or spoon them decoratively now.
Lightly tap the pan on the counter to release air bubbles and level the filling.
Finish & Chill
If you want a no-bake, chilled dessert: cover the pan and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, until set.
If you prefer a baked set (firmer texture): bake at 325°F (160°C) for 18–22 minutes until the edges are slightly set and the center jiggles just a little. Cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then chill for 2–3 hours before serving.
Before serving, melt the dark chocolate and drizzle it decoratively over the top using a spoon or a small piping bag. Sprinkle the extra cookie crumbs and add whipped cream as desired.
Release the springform pan, slice with a warm knife (wipe knife between cuts), and serve chilled. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
