Method

Prepare Glasses & Rims

1

Set up decorations

Chill your serving glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes to keep the shake cold longer. While glasses chill, warm 2 tablespoons melted chocolate (or colored icing) until pourable.

2

Dip the top rim of each chilled glass into the warmed melted chocolate or icing, then immediately dip the rim into crushed cookies, sprinkles, or crushed candies to coat. Set glasses upright to allow the rim to set (place on parchment).

Make the Milkshake Base

3

Place 3 cups vanilla ice cream, 1 cup whole milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract into a blender. Add any optional flavor boosters if desired (2 tbsp chocolate fudge for chocolate version, 2 tbsp strawberry purée for strawberry, or 2 tbsp peanut butter for peanut-butter version).

4

Blend on medium-high in short pulses until smooth and thick. Avoid over-thinning — you want a thick shake that can support toppings. If too thick, add up to 2 tablespoons more milk; if too thin, add 1/4 cup more ice cream.

5

Taste quickly and adjust sweetness or flavor by adding a tablespoon of syrup or a pinch of salt if needed. Reserve about 1/4 cup of mix for pouring over toppings if you plan to drizzle.

Assemble Toppings (candies, baked goods, skewers)

6

Prepare skewers: thread a brownie square, a few mini marshmallows, and a couple of gummies onto skewers. Warm the donut slightly (10–12 seconds in microwave) so it sits better if placing on top of the glass.

7

If you want a caramelized topping: melt 1 tablespoon butter in a small skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons brown sugar and stir until mixture is bubbling and caramel-like. Quickly toss 1/2 cup mini marshmallows or cookie pieces in the caramel, spread on parchment, and let cool slightly.

Build the Freakshake

8

Drizzle 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup and 1 tablespoon strawberry syrup inside each prepared glass, letting some drip down the sides for a decorative effect.

9

Pour the thick milkshake into the decorated glass, filling to about 3/4 full to leave room for toppings.

10

Add whipped cream and immediate toppings

Generously pipe or spoon about 1/2 cup whipped cream on top of each shake. Immediately press crushed cookies, sprinkles, and chocolate chips lightly into the whipped cream so they adhere.

11

Place the prepared skewer(s) with brownie/marshmallow/gummy across the top of the glass. Stand chocolate-covered pretzel sticks and a waffle cone piece into the whipped cream for height.

12

Sit the warmed glazed donut (whole or halved) on top of the whipped cream; use skewers through the donut into the shake to secure if needed.

13

Drizzle remaining melted chocolate over the whipped cream and toppings. Scatter additional gummy candies and more sprinkles or chocolate chips for a finished look.

Finishing & Serving

14

Insert a sturdy straw and a skewer or long spoon through the toppings so the drinker can move through large items. Serve immediately with a napkin — these are messy.

15

If preparing for a group, assemble toppings station so eaters can customize each freakshake with their preferred candies, syrups and baked goods.
