Base Water

Method

Prepare Bottle and Water

1

Sanitize and measure

Wash a 1-liter bottle or container with hot soapy water, rinse well, then fill it to the 1 L mark with cold filtered water (1000 ml).

Make Electrolyte Blend

2

Combine dry electrolytes

In a small bowl, combine 1 tsp fine sea salt, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp potassium chloride, and 1 tsp magnesium citrate powder. Stir with a dry spoon until evenly mixed.

3

Dissolve into water

Add the dry electrolyte mix to the filled 1 L bottle. Close the bottle tightly and shake vigorously for 30–45 seconds until powder is fully dissolved. If any powder remains, open and stir with a clean utensil then reseal and shake again.

Add Flavor and Optional Sweetener

4

Add citrus and sweetener

Add 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice and 1 teaspoon honey or agave (if using) to the bottle. Close and shake until the honey is fully dispersed. Taste and adjust: add up to 1 more teaspoon honey or a little more lemon juice if desired.

5

Add mint (optional)

If using mint, bruise the leaves lightly with your fingers to release aroma and drop them into the bottle. Give a final gentle shake and let rest for 5 minutes to marry flavors.

Final Steps and Storage

6

Chill the smart water for at least 30 minutes or add ice if consuming immediately. Store in the refrigerator and consume within 48 hours for best flavor and potency. Shake briefly before each drink as minerals can settle.
