Garlic Butter
Bread
Method
Garlic Butter
- 1
Prepare garlic butter
In a small bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter (2 tbs) with the minced garlic (2 cloves). Stir until evenly mixed. Add the finely chopped parsley (1 tsp), lemon juice (0.25 tsp) if using, and a pinch each of salt and black pepper. Mix thoroughly. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Assemble
Spread the prepared garlic butter evenly over the cut surfaces of the bread. If using, lightly brush the crust or exposed edges with olive oil (0.5 tsp). Sprinkle the grated Parmesan or mozzarella (1 tbs) evenly over the buttered bread if you want cheesy garlic bread.

Bake
Place the bread on a baking sheet, buttered side up. Bake in the preheated oven for 8–12 minutes, until the butter has melted and the edges are golden. For a crisper top and bubbly cheese, switch the oven to broil (high) for the last 1–2 minutes—watch closely to prevent burning.

Finish and serve
Remove from the oven and let rest for 1–2 minutes. If desired, sprinkle a little extra chopped parsley for color. Slice (if not already) and serve warm.
