Method

Preparing the Beef Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into round patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Assembling the Cheeseburger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, place the lettuce leaves. Add the cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by slices of tomato and pickles. Finally, place the top half of the bun over the toppings.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Hot

Serve the cheeseburgers immediately while hot, with your favorite condiments or sides.
