Measure ingredients
Using a jigger, measure 2 tablespoons (approximately 1.25 oz / 37 ml) Buffalo Trace bourbon, 3/4 tablespoon (approximately 0.4 oz / 12 ml) Aperol, 3/4 tablespoon (approximately 0.4 oz / 12 ml) Amaro Nonino, and 3/4 tablespoon (approximately 0.4 oz / 12 ml) fresh lemon juice into the cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with fresh ice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker feels very cold to the touch and properly diluted (you should hear a solid, brisk shake).
Double strain
Remove the glass from the freezer (if chilled). Using a Hawthorne strainer and, if available, a fine strainer, strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass to remove small ice shards and any pulp from the lemon juice.
