1

Chill the mug

If possible, place a copper mule mug or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes before making the drink to get it very cold. If you don't have time, fill the mug with ice to chill it while you prepare other ingredients, then discard that ice before assembling.

2

Add ice

Fill the chilled mule mug or highball glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice (cubed or crushed, depending on preference).

3

Pour vodka and lime

Measure and pour 2 oz Middle West Oyo Character Vodka over the ice, then add 0.5 oz (about 1/2 oz) fresh lime juice. If you prefer a slightly sweeter mule, increase lime to 0.75 oz and add a small dash of simple syrup (not listed).

4

Top with ginger beer

Slowly pour 4 oz chilled ginger beer into the mug, pouring down the side to preserve carbonation and create a layered look. Gently stir once with a bar spoon or a straw to combine — do not over-stir to avoid flattening the ginger beer.

5

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel on the rim and an optional fresh mint sprig. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy.
