Sandwich

M&B Dressing (mayonnaise & balsamic style)

Method

Sandwich

1

Prepare roll

Slice the hard roll horizontally. Lightly butter the cut faces with 1 tsp unsalted butter (or brush with 1 tsp olive oil) for toasting.

2

Toast roll

Place the roll cut-side down on a hot skillet or in a toaster oven and toast until golden and crisp, about 2–3 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3

Arrange meats and cheese

On the bottom half of the toasted roll layer the meats in the following order for even flavor: salami (3 slices) overlapping, mortadella (3 slices) folded, then prosciutto (2 thin slices). Top the meats with 2 slices of provolone cheese.

4

Add vegetables and giardiniera

Place 2 leaves of washed lettuce over the cheese, then add 2 slices of tomato and 4 thin red onion rings. Scatter 2 tablespoons of drained giardiniera evenly over the vegetables for a tangy, spicy bite.

5

Finish sandwich

Spoon the prepared M&B dressing (about 1½–2 tablespoons) over the top layer of the sandwich ingredients. Close with the top half of the toasted roll, press gently to compress, and slice in half if desired.

M&B Dressing (mayonnaise & balsamic)

6

Combine 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar, 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1 minced garlic clove, and 1 teaspoon honey in a small bowl.

7

Whisk vigorously until smooth and emulsified. Season with 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon black pepper, taste, and adjust — add more honey for sweetness, more balsamic for acidity, or more mayo to mellow.

8

If time allows, refrigerate the dressing for 10–15 minutes to let flavors meld. Stir again before using.
