Pan-Seared Salmon

Blackened Salmon

Method

Pan-Seared Salmon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Fillets

Rub each salmon fillet with olive oil, then season with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  4. 4

    Cook the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.

  5. 5

    Flip and Finish Cooking

Carefully flip the salmon fillets. Add lemon slices and fresh dill to the pan. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with lemon and dill.

Broiled Salmon

  1. 7

    Preheat the Broiler

Set your oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the broiler.

  2. 8

    Prepare the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.

  3. 9

    Make the Butter Mixture

In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 10

    Brush the Fillets

Brush the butter mixture generously over the salmon fillets.

  5. 11

    Broil the Salmon

Broil the salmon for about 6-8 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

  6. 12

    Serve

Remove from the oven and serve hot.

Blackened Salmon

  1. 13

    Prepare the Salmon

Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 14

    Season the Fillets

Rub each salmon fillet with olive oil and then coat generously with blackening spice mix.

  3. 15

    Heat the Skillet

In a cast-iron skillet, heat olive oil over high heat until it is hot and shimmering.

  4. 16

    Cook the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, being careful to avoid any splatters. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until blackened and cooked through.

  5. 17

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve immediately, allowing the spice crust to remain intact.
