Pasta
Cream Sauce
Method
Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil the Water
Fill a large pot with water and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2
Cook the Linguine
Once the water is boiling, add the linguine and cook according to the package instructions, usually 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 3
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the linguine in a colander. Set aside.
Making the Cream Sauce
- 4
Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 5
Add Cream and Cheese
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually add the grated parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- 6
Season the Sauce
Add salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
