Method

For the Graham Cracker Crust

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.

  2. 2

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Use a measuring cup or your fingers to ensure it is evenly packed.

  3. 3

    Bake the Crust

Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

For the Key Lime Filling

  1. 4

    Mix the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and egg yolks until smooth. Gradually add the key lime juice and lime zest, whisking until fully combined.

  2. 5

    Fill the Crust

Pour the filling mixture into the cooled graham cracker crust, spreading it evenly.

  3. 6

    Bake the Pie

Return the pie to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.

  4. 7

    Cool the Pie

Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours to set completely.

For Topping (optional)

  1. 8

    Prepare the Topping

Before serving, spread whipped cream over the top of the pie. Decorate with lime slices if desired.

  2. 9

    Serve

Slice and serve chilled. Enjoy your delicious Key Lime Pie!
