Preparing the Calamari

Clean the Calamari
If using whole calamari, clean and cut them into rings. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well until fully combined.

Coat the Calamari
Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Fry the Calamari
Carefully add the coated calamari rings to the hot oil in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Drain the Calamari
Using a slotted spoon, remove the calamari from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Preparing the Dipping Sauce

Mix Sauce Ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, honey, lime juice, and sesame oil until well combined.

If desired, finely chop the green onion and sprinkle it over the dipping sauce for extra flavor.
