Method
Brewing the Coffee
- 1
Measure Coffee Beans
Use a coffee grinder to measure 0.5 cups of decaffeinated coffee beans.
- 2
Grind the Coffee
Grind the coffee beans to a medium-coarse consistency. This will help achieve a balanced flavor.
- 3
Boil Water
In a kettle, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Use filtered water if possible for better taste.
- 4
Combine Coffee and Water
In a coffee maker or French press, combine the ground decaf coffee with the boiling water.
- 5
Brew the Coffee
Allow the coffee to brew for about 4-5 minutes. This time allows the flavors to fully develop.
- 6
Separate Grounds
If using a French press, press the plunger down slowly to separate the grounds from the liquid. If using a coffee maker, the coffee will be filtered automatically.
- 7
Serve the Coffee
Pour the brewed decaf coffee into a mug. Adjust strength by adding more water if desired.
Adding Optional Ingredients
- 8
Sweeten the Coffee
If desired, add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the hot coffee and stir until dissolved.
- 9
Add Milk or Cream
Pour in 2 tablespoons of milk or cream to the coffee to enhance creaminess.
- 10
Flavor the Coffee
For a hint of flavor, add 0.5 teaspoons of vanilla extract and stir well.
