Method
Preparation of Chicken
- 1
Season the Chicken
In a large bowl, season the breaded chicken pieces with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Ensure all pieces are coated evenly with the seasoning.
- 2
Prepare the Breading Station
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with beaten eggs, one with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese, and one for the seasoned chicken. Dip each chicken piece into the egg, ensuring it is fully coated, then transfer it to the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to adhere the breadcrumbs on all sides.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded chicken pieces in batches. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Cooking the Sauce
- 4
Heat the Marinara Sauce
In a small saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking or burning. Once hot, remove from heat.
Serving
- 5
Assemble the Meal
On a serving plate, place 2-3 pieces of fried chicken. Spoon a generous amount of marinara sauce over the chicken. Serve with a side of bread rolls or baguette.
