Base Smoothie

Light Flavor & Sweetness

Method

Base Smoothie

  1. 1

    Combine liquids and yogurt

Pour 1.5 cups unsweetened almond milk and 0.5 cup plain low‑fat Greek yogurt into a blender.

  2. 2

Add the sliced frozen banana and 1 cup frozen mixed berries to the blender with the liquids.

Light Flavor & Sweetness

  1. 3

Add 1 tablespoon honey or agave nectar, 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon to the blender. These provide a light, bright sweetness without overpowering the drink.

Light Boosters & Finish

  1. 4

If using, add 1/2 cup packed baby spinach for extra nutrients and color. Add 4 ice cubes to chill and slightly thicken the smoothie.

  2. 5

Secure the blender lid and blend on high for 45–60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and evenly combined. Stop and scrape down the sides once if needed, then blend again for 10–15 seconds.

  3. 6

Taste and adjust: if you want it lighter/sweeter, add up to 1 teaspoon more honey or 2–3 tablespoons additional almond milk to thin. If too thin, add another 1/2 frozen banana or a few more ice cubes and blend briefly.

  4. 7

Pour the smoothie into a 16–20 oz glass. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds on top and garnish with 1 fresh berry or a banana slice.

  5. 8

Serve immediately with a straw. Stir once before drinking if chia seeds settle.
