Method
Cocktail
Chill glass
Place a chilled champagne flute or coupe in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure the drink stays crisp and cold.
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 tbs elderflower & rose gin, 0.5 tbs elderflower syrup, 0.5 tbs fresh lime juice, and a generous measure of ice (about 6 ice cubes).
Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is very cold to the touch and the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.
Garnish and serve
Express a lime twist over the drink to release oils, then drop it into the flute or rest a thin lime wheel on the rim. Optionally add an edible rose petal or small sprig of thyme for aroma. Serve immediately while effervescent.
Notes
Adjust elderflower syrup to taste if you prefer a sweeter or drier cocktail (increase by 0.25–0.5 tbs for sweeter). If using a larger coupe/flute, scale sparkling wine to keep a roughly 2:1 sparkling wine to base ratio. All listed components are used in the steps above.
