Prepare the Au Jus

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the sliced onion until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add Broth and Seasoning

Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for about 10 minutes to develop flavors.

Prepare the Baguette

While the au jus is simmering, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and spread butter on each half.

Toast the Baguette

Place the buttered baguette halves on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.

Assemble the French Dip

Layer the sliced roast beef on the toasted baguette and close it. Serve hot with a side of au jus for dipping. Offer horseradish on the side if desired.
