Margarita Cocktail
Tools & Serving
Method
Prepare Glass
Choose your serving glass (rocks glass for on the rocks, coupe for straight up). If you prefer a salt rim, run the lime wedge around the outer rim of the glass to moisten it.
Pour the coarse salt onto a small plate. Gently press and rotate the moistened rim into the salt to create an even salted edge. Set the glass aside (chilled if possible).
Mix Cocktail
Measure & Add
Add 2 oz Olmeca Altos Plata tequila, 1 oz triple sec, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup (optional, use if you prefer a slightly sweeter Margarita) into a cocktail shaker.
Add Ice
Fill the shaker with enough ice to come near the top (about 1 cup or a large handful).
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker exterior becomes frosty and well-chilled.
Strain & Serve (Up)
If serving straight up (no ice): double-strain the contents into the chilled, salted glass to remove any small ice shards and citrus pulp.
Garnish with a lime wheel or a lime wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
Notes & Tips
Use freshly squeezed lime juice for best flavor. Adjust simple syrup to taste — omit entirely for a more tart, traditional Margarita.
For a deeper flavor, consider reducing triple sec to 0.75 oz and increasing tequila to 2.25 oz for a slightly drier drink.
If you prefer a flavored Margarita (e.g., mango or strawberry), add 0.5–1 oz fresh fruit puree and reduce simple syrup accordingly.
