Cheese Manicotti Ingredients
Method
Directions
Cook the Manicotti
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the manicotti pasta in boiling salted water for about 8-10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Cheese Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Stuff the Manicotti
Using a piping bag or a spoon, carefully fill each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture.
Assemble the Dish
Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place the stuffed manicotti on top of the sauce in a single layer. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top of the manicotti.
Add Toppings
Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top of the marinara sauce. If desired, add fresh basil for extra flavor.
Bake
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serve
Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your cheese manicotti!
