1

Prepare glass and cucumber

Choose a tall Collins or large wine glass. Place 3 thin cucumber slices into the glass and lightly muddle them with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release aroma and a touch of cucumber juice — do not pulverize. If you prefer a stronger cucumber presence, use 4 slices.

2

Add alcohol and almond

Add 2 oz Citadelle gin, 1/2 oz almond orgeat (almond syrup), and 1/2 oz fresh lime juice to the glass with the muddled cucumber.

3

Add ice

Fill the glass with ice to the top (about 1 cup). Use large cubes if available to slow dilution.

4

Top with tonic

Gently pour 4 oz chilled tonic water down the side of the glass to preserve effervescence. Stir once gently with a bar spoon to integrate the gin, orgeat, lime and cucumber without losing too much carbonation.

5

Garnish and finish

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and a long cucumber ribbon tucked inside the glass. If using, sprinkle 1 tsp toasted almond slivers on top or skewer them with the lime for an almond accent. Serve immediately.

6

Optional adjustments

For a drier G&T, reduce orgeat to 1/4 oz. For more citrus brightness, add an additional 1/4 oz lime juice. For a lighter drink, increase tonic to 5–6 oz and keep orgeat at 1/2 oz.
