Method

Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and chili powder.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.

4

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Then stir in the boiling water until smooth.

5

Bake the Cakes

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6

Cool the Cakes

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

7

Serve

Once cooled, frost with chocolate frosting or serve as is, optionally dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
