Method

Chicken Preparation

1

Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, mix buttermilk, rosemary, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken thighs, cover, and marinate for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.

2

Coat the Chicken

Set up a breading station with one bowl of flour and another with beaten eggs. Dredge marinated chicken in flour, dip in egg, then coat again in flour.

3

Fry the Chicken

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Gravy Preparation

4

Make the Gravy

In the same skillet used for frying the chicken, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour, stirring constantly until golden. Gradually add milk, whisking until gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

5

Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

Boil peeled and chopped potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until creamy.

Serving

6

Plate the Dish

Serve the crispy chicken over a bed of mashed potatoes, topped with country gravy. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with seasonal vegetables on the side.
