Method

Prepare & Build

  1. 1

    Chill glass

If possible, chill a large wine glass or rocks glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes so the drink stays colder longer.

  2. 2

    Add ice

Fill the chilled glass about two-thirds full with fresh ice (approximately 1 cup).

  3. 3

    Measure and pour spirits

Pour 3 oz dry sake into the glass, then add 1 oz Aperol followed by 3 oz prosecco. Pour gently so the prosecco retains some effervescence.

  4. 4

    Add juice and soda

Add 1 oz fresh orange juice, then top with 1 oz chilled club soda. Stir once gently with a bar spoon (one full turn) to combine without losing too much carbonation.

  5. 5

    Garnish and serve

Express the oils of one orange wedge over the drink by holding it skin-side down and giving it a light squeeze, then drop or perch the wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
