Cocktail
Optional — Aromatic Bitters
Method
Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass (optional)
If preferred, place a copper mug or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice and water while you gather ingredients to chill the vessel.
- 2
Fill a chilled copper mug or highball glass with fresh ice cubes until nearly full.
- 3
Measure and pour 2 oz vodka over the ice.
- 4
Add 0.5 oz (about half an ounce) of freshly squeezed lime juice to the glass.
- 5
Top gently with 4 oz ginger beer. Pour slowly down the side or over a bar spoon to preserve carbonation.
- 6
Optional: add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters on top to add aromatic complexity (stirring will slightly diffuse the bitters).
- 7
Stir once gently with a bar spoon to combine — 4–6 slow turns through the drink to integrate without flattening the ginger beer.
- 8
Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel on the rim. Serve immediately while fizzy and cold.
