Classic Margarita

Method

Classic Margarita

1

Prepare glass

Run a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled rocks glass. Dip the rim lightly into coarse salt to coat. Set glass aside.

2

Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 1 oz orange liqueur, and 0.5 oz simple syrup (optional) into a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice.

3

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and diluted slightly.

4

Strain the mixture over fresh ice into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and serve immediately.

Spicy Margarita

5

Infuse jalapeño

In a shaker, muddle 3 jalapeño slices gently (press 3–4 times; avoid pulverizing to control heat). If you prefer more heat, include seeds or muddle longer.

6

Add 2 oz reposado tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, and 0.5 oz agave nectar to the shaker with the muddled jalapeño. Fill with ice.

7

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds. Taste by straining a small amount; if too spicy or strong, add a splash of water or more lime.

8

Run lime around the rim of a glass and dip into chipotle powder or Tajín (optional). Strain the cocktail over fresh ice into the glass. Garnish with a jalapeño slice or lime wedge.

Fruit-forward (Strawberry) Margarita

9

Make puree (if needed)

If you don't have pre-made strawberry puree, hull and halve 3–4 medium strawberries and blend until smooth. Strain if you want a silkier texture.

10

Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, 1 oz strawberry puree, and 0.25 oz simple syrup (optional) into a shaker with ice.

11

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until chilled. Double-strain into a chilled glass over fresh ice to remove pulp if desired.

12

Garnish with a fresh strawberry or lime wheel and serve.

Flight Serving & Notes

13

To present as a Margarita Flight (West+Stone style), prepare each of the three margaritas following the sections above and pour each into its own small rocks glass or tasting coupe.

14

Label or place them in order: Classic, Spicy, Fruit-forward. Provide a small palate cleanser (water or plain crackers) between pours if desired.

15

Estimated single-serving pours are ~3–4 oz each. Adjust ice and dilution to preference. Offer extra lime wedges and salt/Tajín for guests to customize rims.
